FluidIntel’s new AdaptSMU tags record engine hour data, as well as identifying the vehicle or equipment item. The data is sent wirelessly to our in-field controller, AdaptMAC, each time the vehicle or equipment is re-fuelled. Engine hour data enables the calculation of burn-rates – essential to spotting vehicles in immediate need of a service, or identifying fuel-efficient driving or operating practices.
Recent projects include Vale in Indonesia, who commenced installing AdaptSMU tags on 500 heavy vehicles as part of a staged rollout.
In all scales of mining, a critical component for productivity from all heavy equipment from the go-line, down to the center of the pit, is ensuring fuel is readily available and accessible to these pieces of equipment when their tanks run low.
Poor quality or contaminated diesel fuel contributes to more than 75% of fuel system related failures in all mining fuel consuming assets.
